Kathmandu, May 22: Antonina Samoilova has made history, becoming the first Ukrainian woman to scale Mt Everest for a whopping three times.
Samoilova, 35, reached the top of the world’s highest peak (8848.86m) today at around 4:55 am, said Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Chief Executive Officer of 14 Peaks Expedition Pvt. Ltd., a leading Kathmandu-based expedition operator.
Earlier, Samoilova climbed Everest in 2022, 2023 and 2024. All the three ascents were made as part of the 14 Peaks Expedition in the spring season.
