Kathmandu, May 25: This week Nepal hosted the International Expert Dialogue on Mountains, People, and Climate Change.
Global experts gathered in Nepal for this two-day international event, prioritising mountain-based actions and foster collaboration on UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) initiatives.
USAID supported this event. “We are proud to partner with the Government of Nepal in their commitment to addressing climate change in mountain regions,” said USAID.
USAID works closely with local communities, local organizations, municipal governments and other development partners to address climate change through multisectoral approaches.
This will ultimately help Nepal increase its climate resilience, reduce climate-related disaster risk, advance its transition to clean, renewable energy, and reach net-zero emissions by 2045.
