Kathmandu, June 3: Chargé d’affaires Jason Meeks attended the closing ceremony of the 21st edition of the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMMF). The occasion saw the screening of a documentary by Tashi Lhazom, an intern at the U.S. Embassy and a climate justice advocate from Humla.
Her documentary, “No Monastery, No Village,” is a poignant exploration of faith, resilience, and the fight to preserve a way of life in the face of climate change in her hometown.
“The U.S. Embassy is proud to support KIMFF and the featured stories of Nepali Himalayan culture, its local communities, the vibrant mountaineer traditions, challenges, and triumphs lived on the tallest peaks in the world.”
