Kathmandu, June 17: Nepali filmmaker and entrepreneur Shree Gurung is shining in the entertainment industry, showcasing the talent within Nepal and a positive impact of U.S. exchange programme.
In 2018, Gurung participated in an U.S. International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) exchange programme titled “Connecting Nepali Producers with the American Market.”
Last month, Gurung’s unscripted reality show, “The Challengers: Game of Himalayas,” premiered on the red-carpet at the historic AMC Empire 25 Theater in Times Square, New York.
Filmed in the Everest region, the show features 11 vloggers from six countries competing on their journey to Mt. Everest’s Base Camp. Featuring Kami Rita Sherpa and Mingma David Sherpa, and hosted by Nikhil Chinapa, the show promises a raw and unfiltered look at the beauty and challenges of the Everest region.
The U.S. Embassy applauds Gurung’s work for showcasing the talent of Nepali filmmakers, technicians, and artists to the world.
