Nuwakot, Aug 21: Bidur Municipality-5 has been providing Rs 5,000 when birth and death are registered with the office. Parents will receive Rs 5,000 when birth registration takes place within 35 days. Similarly, bereaved families will get Rs 5,000 upon death registration.
Ward chair Lilanath Neupane informed that the programme was approved by the Municipal Council and the ward has started providing funds.
“Last year, after registering birth within 35 days, a bank account will be opened in the child’s name and Rs 10,000 will be deposited in the account (the municipality provides Rs 5,000 and the family deposit remaining Rs 5,000). In case of death of a resident of the ward, Rs 5,000 will be given to the bereaved family if death is registered within 35 days.”
