Sindhuli, Aug 25: A team of divers found debris of the car that fell into the Sunkoshi river from Golanjor Rural Municipality-1 in Sindhuli district. However, three persons who drowned are still missing, said the police.
The vehicle was retrieved at around 2 am today, said Superintendent of Police Gobinda Kafle, adding that the search for the missing ones is ongoing. On Saturday evening, a vehicle (Pradesh 3-1-23 Cha 6366) skidded off the road and fell into the river at Kundule of Golanjor Rural Municipality-1 at around 5:30 pm. The vehicle was headed to Kathmandu from Halesi of Khotang.
The missing ones have been identified as Abin, 32, of Jagati of Suryabinayak Municipality in Bhaktapur, Pranit Syagu of Banke-3 and Balaram Ghatuwa, 37.
Sushant Kakchyapati survived the accident by jumping off the vehicle. Kakchyapati, who has sustained minor injuries, was sent to Khurkot for treatment, said the police.
