Jhapa : Two persons died on the spot in a road accident that took place this evening on the East-West Highway. The accident occurred at Kerkha of Kamal rural municipality-4 in the district.
Information Officer of the District Traffic Police Office, Arjun Prasad Sodari, informed that the deceased were 60-year-old Tek Bahadur Limbu of Kamal rural municipality-3 and his 11-year-old granddaughter Kripa Limbu.
According to Sodari, the incident took place at around 5:30 in the evening when the passenger bus (Province-1-01-001 Kha 4331) heading to Kathmandu from Kakadvitta hit the electric bicycle which the elderly Limbu and his granddaughter were riding.
Kerkha Police station immediately took under control the bus driver Bishal Thatal. After the incident, the locals blocked traffic along the highway.
