The U.S. Embassy celebrated the return of the BookBus program last week, reviving its mission to foster literacy and creativity in young students across the community.
In an official launch event, U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Chief Mike Harker, Cultural Affairs Officer Erica Alexander, and Regional Public Engagement Specialist Kathleen Fox marked the BookBus’s comeback. This mobile library, now parked on school grounds, provides students with a unique space to discover books and engage in interactive workshops.
By bringing the BookBus to neighborhoods, the program aims to inspire a love for reading and offer accessible educational resources, expanding opportunities for children who may not have regular access to library facilities. The BookBus is ready to roll, delivering books, learning activities, and inspiration to the next generation of readers.
