The APF that has the presence in all districts across the country is trying to establish itself as a ‘dedicated’ border security force. The APF has been performing its duty through 254 border outposts in the border sharing with India and China.

APF joint spokesperson Shailendra Thapa said 201 BOPs have been set up along the country’s southern border, 22 in the east, 21 in the west and 10 in the north.

The police force has been carrying out border security and development programmes in collaboration with the border security mechanisms of India and China to make border security effective.

The APF which has supported the state in the prevention of smuggling and import has contributed Rs 1.05 billion in revenue collection in the six months of the current fiscal year as compared to Rs 1.64 billion in the last fiscal year, said joint spokesperson Thapa.

The APF foundation day celebration is taking place today at its Halchowk-based Headquarters of APF with Prime Minster KP Sharma Oli featuring the chief guest.
