Taplejung, Jan 22: Cash offerings of nearly Rs 13 million have been collected at the Pathibhara Temple in Taplejung district within six months of the current fiscal year 2024/25. According to the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, the offerings was amassed from 106,623 devotees paying obeisance at the Temple dedicated to Goddess Pathibhara (Durga) since mid-July last year to mid-Jan, 2025.

Unveiling the offerings in cash and in kind and the number of devotees, Committee’s executive director Prajin Hangbang shared that the collected cash amount is spent in preservation and management of the revered shrine.

The Committee further said that the offerings are spent in development of infrastructures at the Temple premises to facilitate devotees who arrive in droves especially during Dashain, Tihar and Chaite Dashain among others festivals.

Pathibhara Temple is one of the major religious shrines in the country located at an altitude of 4,000 metres. It is believed that Goddess Pathibhara fulfills the devotees’ wishes if they pay obeisance at the Temple.

The Committee at present is implementing service improvement plans by developing new infrastructures such as installing drinking water service, upgrading trekking trails, plating tree in temple premises and establishment of tourist police post and construction of parking space among others.
