Pokhara, Nepal – Demonstrating its commitment to community welfare, the Rotary Club of Pokhara Lakeside has distributed sweaters, shirts, and pants to students of Yuva Barsha Basic School in Ward No. 21 of Pokhara Metropolitan City.
At a special handover ceremony, Club President Upendra Adhikari handed over the materials to Deepak Prasad Subedi, Chairman of both the School Management Committee and Ward No. 21. In a generous gesture, President Adhikari also pledged to personally provide shoes for the students.
Expressing appreciation for the support, Chairman Subedi thanked the donors and urged continued assistance in the future. Former student Maheshwar Bhandari shared his delight, acknowledging the club’s prompt response to their request for support.
According to Program Coordinator and Club Secretary Subas Malla, the donation was made after careful coordination with the school to meet the students’ most pressing needs. Club Treasurer Amod Koirala revealed that the club contributed around NPR 50,000 worth of materials, while the club’s incoming president, Engineer Rajendra Ligal, noted that funds were sourced from the club’s reserves and additional support from Mathura Sahu’s store in Mahendrapul.
The event, hosted by School Principal Bishnu Prasad Pahari, was attended by teachers, students, and members of the school management committee, marking a successful effort in supporting young learners.
