Kathmandu – A groundbreaking step in financial innovation has been introduced with the launch of the Borderless Banking Service, a first-of-its-kind initiative connecting U.S. banks directly with Nepal. The service has been jointly launched by U.S.-based fintech company Xuno and Sidhartha Bank Limited.
The launch event was attended by U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson, who highlighted the significance of the collaboration. The new service allows Nepalis residing in the United States to open bank accounts in Nepal remotely, without the need to travel, while also providing safer and more affordable remittance options.
Ambassador Thompson praised both partners for making digital banking “truly borderless” and emphasized the potential for greater collaboration between U.S. fintech firms and Nepali banks, particularly in areas of financial technology and cybersecurity.
This initiative not only strengthens financial connectivity but also underscores the growing economic partnership between the United States and Nepal, showcasing America’s leadership in digital and financial innovation.
