“You don’t have to be perfect to make a difference. You just have to be present, persistent, and passionate,” said Nisha Singh, an #AustraliaAwards alum from Nepal’s Madhesi community, highlighting the importance of commitment in driving positive change.
Singh was among 51 distinguished alumni from South Asia and Mongolia, including seven representatives from Nepal, who participated in the 2025 Regional Alumni Workshop in Sri Lanka. The event brought together development professionals to explore ways of embedding equity in development, particularly for people with disabilities and those from marginalized communities.
Marking its tenth year, the Workshop featured keynote addresses, interactive panel discussions, and the official launch of the Equity for All Alumni Network. The network aims to strengthen collaboration among alumni, foster knowledge exchange, and promote inclusive practices across the region.
