Kathmandu : Complaints filed against former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak were sent back to the police administration on Thursday, according to the Commission formed to probe into incidents of Gen-Z protest.

Bigyan Raj Sharma, a Member of the Commission, formed by the interim government to probe into the incident occurred during the Gen-Z protest on September 8 and 9, said the complaints were sent back to the Kathmandu District Police Range as the complaints do not fall under the Commission’s jurisdiction.

Earlier, the Kathmandu District Police Range had sent the complaints at the Commission without registering them. Issuing a press release on Thursday, the Commission said it has got a mandate to carryout factual investigation of losses of physical damages and human casualties taken place during the Gen-Z protests, to submit a report with suggestions after carrying out probe regarding the reason behind the incident, to analyze after receiving the information and complaints related to physical and human casualties and provide necessary opinion regarding action.

The Commission also clarified that it was not necessary to wait the report of the Commission to carryout investigation in a criminal case.
