Director general at the Department, Rajendra Koirala, shared that although the country had witnessed 60 percent paddy plantation till the same period last fiscal year, the cultivation is 10 percent behind this year.

Categorically, Sudurpaschim Province has topped the plantation with 87 percent, which followed by Gandaki Province with 65.9 percent, Karnali Province with 60 percent, Lumbini Province with 59 percent, and Bagmati Province with 57.1 percent.

Madhes Province has so far done the paddy plantation in 32.7 percent of its land, while Koshi Province in 32 percent, the Department added.

The authority hoped the paddy plantation will increase sharply next week, as it is raining in most parts of the country. The farming continues smoothly once there will be no hindrances such as floods, landslides and other natural disasters.
