Kathmandu: Ncell Axiata Limited has refuted recent news reports issuing a public notice today.

Ncell also strongly condemned these reports as these were a deliberate attempt to misconstrue facts to mislead the public of Nepal with respect to the work-in-progress draft of the telecommunications bill and also linking the company with the issue of another private telecommunications service provider.

Such news published, citing unverified sources, is a serious attempt to damage the reputation of this company.

‘We believe that the company has been victimized to fulfill the vested interests of some limited groups, practicing unethical journalism.’ reads the notice.

Ncell also said that the company is fully dutiful and responsibly conformed to all relevant regulatory and legal requirements.

Ncell is part of Axiata, one of the largest telecommunications groups in Asia.
