Janakpurdham : Paddy transplantation in Madhesh Province has reached the final stage. According to the Madhesh Province Agricultural Development Directorate, paddy has been transplanted so far in an area of 350,118.88 hectares across Madhesh Province. This is 91.55 percent of the total paddy cultivation area.
Among the eight districts of Madhesh Province, Siraha has achieved cent percent transplantation in 54,000 hectares of land used for paddy cultivation, said Kiran Bishwakarma, Horticulture Officer of the Directorate.
Likewise, 90 percent sowing of paddy has been completed in Saptari, 85 percent in Dhanusha, 74.77 percent in Mahottari, 94 percent in Sarlahi, 93 percent in Rautahat, 95 percent in Bara and 91 percent in Parsa.
Paddy transplantation is estimated to take place in a total of 382,433 hectares in Madhesh Province. Officer Bishwakarma said that sowing has progressed satisfactorily this year due to favorable rainfall and adequate irrigation facilities.
