Kathmandu, Aug 8: Vehicular movement has been obstructed at different places of the country due to rainfall, landslide and encroachment.
As per the Police Headquarters details road obstruction as of 7:00 am this morning, transport service has been affected at Mid-hill highway, Araniko highway,mechi highway, Trishuli-Mailung-Syaphribesi road, Nagma-Gamgadhi road, Bheri corridor and Salleri-Lukla road.
Entry of all types of vehicles has been prohibited at Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebesi road section along BP highway from 6:00 pm-4:00 am considering the risk of possible flood.
Similarly, vehicular movement at Kanti highway has been stopped from 5:00 pm-5:00 am due to rainfall as well as transport service has been completely obstructed at Ilam municipality-9 along Mechi highway due to muddy road following rainfall. However, alternate routes are in operation in these areas.
Different road sections along Araniko highway have been completely blocked due to landslide at Zerokilo, Kodari and Liping areas under Bhotekoshi rural municipality. The road has also caved in along Araniko highway.
Likewise, Samakoshi rivulet has encroached land at Kirnetar of Tamakoshi rural municipality in Dolakha along Lamasangu-Ramechhap section, thereby obstructing the transport service.
Mid-hill highway has been blocked at Laligurans municipality-9 in Terhathum, Salleri-Lukla section along Nildorjee tourism section at Khumbu Pasanglhamu rural municipality-1 in Solukhumbu.
The police have urged the general people to travel only after acquiring information about road condition with relevant agencies and take necessary precautions as there is still risk of landslide and flood.
