Kathmandu, Aug 10: The monsoon is currently active across the country, with a low-pressure system influencing weather patterns. The Meteorological Forecasting Division reports that all areas of Koshi and Lumbini provinces, along with the Himalayan and hilly regions of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, are generally cloudy.
Light to moderate rainfall is occurring in various locations, particularly in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Forecasts indicate that the weather will remain generally cloudy, with potential for moderate rain and snowfall in the Himalayas, accompanied by thunder and lightning.
The hilly areas are expected to experience moderate rainfall, while the Terai regions of Koshi, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim, as well as parts of Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki, may also see similar weather conditions.
Heavy rain is anticipated in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the hills of Karnali and Sudurpashchim, and the hilly and Terai regions of Lumbini.
The division warns that heavy rainfall could lead to an increased risk of floods, landslides, and erosion, urging residents in affected areas to take necessary precautions. The potential impact on daily life, agriculture, health services, tourism, and transportation is significant, prompting a call for vigilance among the populace.
