Kathmandu, Sept 27: Right now, the monsoon low-pressure line is hanging out around its usual spot in the western region, while it’s a bit further south than normal in the east.
The country is feeling the effects of monsoon winds, along with some westerly breezes, and there’s a well-defined low-pressure area sitting over Uttar Pradesh, India.
The meteorological forecasting division reports that mostly cloudy skies are dominating in the Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim Provinces. Meanwhile, the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi and Bagmati Provinces are generally cloudy, and the Terai areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati Provinces are seeing partly cloudy conditions.
Moderate rain is currently falling in the Kathmandu valley and various other locations across the country. In the Himalayan and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces, moderate rain or snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is happening in many spots.
Some areas in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces are also experiencing similar weather, while a few places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati Provinces are seeing the same.
Expect moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning in many parts of the Terai areas of Sudurpashchim Province, some spots in Lumbini Province, a few areas in Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, and just one or two places in the Terai regions of Koshi and Madhesh Provinces.
