Kanchanpur, Oct 12: The Shuklaphanta National Park (SNP) located in Kanchanpur district has opened jungle safari for the tourists.

The tourists will be allowed to enjoy jungle safari from tomorrow, Tuesday. The decision for the ride into the forest was made considering the arrival of tourists during the Dashain and Tihar festivals.

However, all routes for the safari are not opened as rainfall was yet to retreat fully. Only major routes are opened into the park for sight scene, according to information officer at SNP, Purushottam Wagle.

Route for the travel into the park is managed from Majhgaon to Babatal which further connects Ranital to Ghansemaidan and Barkaula. During the safari, tourists can view wildlife.

Once the rainfall is fully retreated, other routes will also be opened for the jungle safari, information officer Wagle added.

SNP covers 305 hectares of land. It is famous for Bengal Tiger and swamp deer. There are 2,300 swamp deer and 50 tigers in the park.
