Kathmandu, Oct 29: The Nagdhunga Tunnel Construction Project is set to begin collecting tolls from vehicles using the tunnel route, effective from November 1.
Issuing a public notice today, the Project has stated that tolls have been applied in accordance with a decision made by the Executive Committee of the Road Board Nepal.

The government had previously determined the toll rates for vehicles using the Nagdhunga-Naubise tunnel, as published in the Nepal Gazette. Tolls have been set based on the vehicle’s capacity.

For cars, vans, pickups, tractors, microbuses, and other light vehicles, the toll is set at Rs 65 when entering Kathmandu and Rs 60 when departing from Kathmandu.

Similarly, for minibuses and mini-tippers/trucks, the toll is Rs 125 for entry into Kathmandu and Rs 80 for departure. For buses and trucks (with a single rear axle), the toll is Rs 260 for entry into Kathmandu and Rs 200 for departure.

Likewise, for trucks/vehicles and heavy equipment, the toll is Rs 600 for entry into Kathmandu and Rs 250 for departure. The tunnel was inaugurated on July 27, and travelers have been using it on a trial basis since then.
