Kathmandu: Nagarik Unmukti Party has withdrawn the nationwide shutdown program announced from May 20-24.
Issuing a press release on Friday, senior vice-chairperson of the party, Damodar Pandit, said the nationwide shutdown program has been withdrawn after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ announced to release of the report of Lal Commission in the Parliament while the bill on criminal offense has already been tabled in the Parliament.
The statement reads, “The nation-wide shutdown program has been postponed until next notice as the Prime Minister expressed commitment in the parliament to release its leaders and cadres after amending the laws.”
