GORKHA: Chairman of Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ registered his candidacy for the election to the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Gorkha Constituency No 2 on Sunday.
Prachanda reached the Office of the Election Officer at Dal Bhanjyang in Gorkha Municipality-9 to file his nomination papers under the first-past-the-post electoral system.
The HoR and Province Assembly elections are taking place on November 20. Former Prime Minister and Nepal Socialist Party Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai proposed for Prachanda’s candidacy while CPN (Maoist Centre) senior vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha has seconded the candidacy nomination, according to Election Officer Narad Prasad Bhattarai.
Dahal reached the Office of the Election Officer along with Dr Bhattarai, Shrestha, party’s secretary Hitraj Pandey and other leaders and cadres.
