Kathmandu: Civil Service Day is being observed across the country by organising various programmes on Friday.
Although it has been already 60 years since the formation of civil service in Nepal, Civil Service Day started being celebrated from Bhadra 22, 2062 Bikram Sambat (BS), 18 years ago.
A government led by the then Prime Minister Tanka Prasad Acharya on Bhadra, 22, 2013 BS introduced the Civil Service Act.
There are around 83,000 civil servants in the country. The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration is organising various programmes on Friday to celebrate the Day.
