Kathmandu, Nov 3: Over 5,000 Nepali people with disabilities have benefited from the project launched in partnership with the USAID Nepal. The USAID Physical Rehabilitation Activity has partnered with the Prosthetics Orthotics Society-Nepal (POS) to implement the project aiming to provide improved access to quality prosthetics and orthotics (P&O).
This collaboration has helped a total of 5,180 Nepali people with disabilities through improved access to quality prosthetics and orthotics, said according to the USAID Nepal. The USAID Nepal has highlighted the partnership between the POS and the USAID PRA on the occasion of the International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day, 2023 scheduled to take place on coming November 5.
USAID has also partnered in leadership development activities including workshops, seminars, conferences and continuing professional development programmes to uplift and recognise 34 Nepali P&O professionals. It has also offered to continue to collaborate with both persons with disabilities and P&O service providers to ensure quality healthcare and rehabilitation service within the overall health system.
