‘Dhrube’ elephant again spotted in human settlements

Chitwan, Nov 13: ‘Dhrube’, a notorious wild tusker in Chitwan National Park has been spotted in the human settlements, leaving the local residents there in terror. Dhrube elephant which killed a total of 22 people in the past is now seen in wards no. 23 and 24 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City and Madi area in the past two weeks.

Information Officer of Chitwan National Park (CNP) Ganesh Prasad Tiwari said that the wild elephant has wrecked havoc in the human settlements by destroying houses, sheds and destroying property. Tiwari shared two teams including technical human resources have been mobilized to contain the elephant ‘Dhrube’ adding that a satellite collar would be fitted in it to record the activities of the elephant.

Likewise, security personnel of Nepal Army, Nepal Police, local residents and consumers committee in the buffer zone areas have been carrying out patrolling also to confirm the mobility of the wild tusker.
