Kathmandu, Jan 13: The Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) has decided to organize an art exhibition on ‘Mystery of Himalaya-2080’ in the wake of increasing impacts of climate change, carbon emission and industrialization and need of awakening the world.
At a press meet organized by NAFA, Chancellor Naradmuni Hartamchhali viewed Himalaya region is gradually heating owing to impact on ozone layer. It is necessary to create public awareness on it through art, so NAFA is going to conduct a painting show.
The art exhibition focused on mountains is being held for the first time, according to him.
NAFA has also called the painters to submit their creative works before January 19. The painting show would be held before mid February, according to NAFA Member Secretary, Devendra Kafle Thumkeli.
Earlier, the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, who visited Nepal and reached mountain bases, had expressed concern over mountain issues and climate change impacts. He also reminded the world during COP-28 that Nepal’s mountains were crying out for help.
