Kathmandu, Feb 10: Ambassador of the United States to Nepal Dean R. Thompson visited the American Corner Surkhet and met with alumni of the United States’ Youth in Policy and Governance Programme.
This is the first-of-its-kind fellowship for young people in Nepal that trains an emerging group of subject matter experts and advisors to Members of the Provincial Parliament in public policy.
The program encourages participation of young people in provincial policy making and building an inclusive democracy.
Ambassador Thompson appreciated hearing from young people from Karnali about the challenges and opportunities revolving encouraging youth participation in provincial law-making processes in Nepal.
