Kapilvastu, Feb 15: Ten people have died in a road accident that took place near the Surahi Bridge in Shivaraj Municipality-1 of the district early today.
The accident took place when a passenger bus (Su-Pa-Pra-02-001 Ba 0098) operated by Sunaulo Mahakali Transport fell some 200 meters below from the road on its way to Kathmandu from Mahendranagar at around 1:00 am.
According to Kapilvastu District Police Office, 10 people died on the spot in the accident. The identity of the deceased is not yet known. Likewise, 30 others were injured in the accident, of which nine have been rushed to Butwal, said Police Inspector Navaratna Paudel. The remaining are undergoing treatment at local medical centres including the Sanjeevani Hospital.
