Kathmandu, Feb 24: The US-Nepal Hip-Hop Collab–Khulaun Bolaun Concert has concluded here in Kathmandu on a high note with breathtaking performance from renowned hip-hop artists, and enthusiastic participation.
Hosted by the U.S. Embassy in collaboration with the Nepal HipHop Foundation (NHF), the event featured the performance from the renowned hip-hop artists from Nepal and the United States, who set the stage on fire with their electrifying performance, energizing and stunning the audience.
They used spoken word, rap, production and dance skills as a medium for economic and social empowerment and serve the event’s purpose of empowering youth to freely express themselves through art, said the organiser.
The audience were left stunning as renowned hip-hop artists, including American artists DJ Fleg, Shanna Lim, Mazi Mutafa, and Substantial, all from Words Beats & Life, and Nepali hip-hop artists, including Laure and Bad Kompany, Professor Trix, Vyoma, Kiran Nepali, Amazumi, Witty, Hyuga, Kaluman, Qmax, and Itish, Nishanta Gauchan and Rikesh Neupane, Faithom, DJ Able aka Sonu, and Tazung Fashion rocked.
DJ Fleg, Mazi Mutafa, Shanna Lim, and Substantial, who came to Nepal all the way from the United States for the event, marking the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop culture, have been thanked in particular for bringing new hip-hop knowledge, techniques, and methods to young Nepali hip-hop artists and enthusiasts, and helping them realise the transformative power of hip-hop.
According to the organiser, the event aimed to celebrate hip-hop culture and its historical place as a powerful tool for social change and minority rights activism.
