Kathmandu, March 28: Ambassador of Australia to Nepal, Felicity Volk, has recently visited educational institutions supported by the Australian Government in Bajhang district.
“During my visit to the Shree Meltadi Secondary School at Lamtada and Shree Ishwor Basic School at Ghatkhola of Khaptad Chhanna Rural Municipality, Bajhang, I had the opportunity to see Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade partner Australian Himalayan Foundation and REED Nepal activities that have supported all 38 early childhood development centres, 30 basic schools, eight secondary schools and four community learning centres across the seven wards in the rural municipality,” said Ambassador Volk.
The Sambriddha Khaptad Chhanna project has provided trainings to teachers, parents and school management committees benefitting the community through improved capacities of the school management committees, better classroom management system, enhanced parental engagement in education of the children, continued learning after the disasters, and closer coordination and functional relationships with the local government.
She has also expressed her thanks to the rural municipality Chairperson Uttam Bahadur Rokaya and the rural municipality executive members for the warm welcome during her visit and for taking time to explain how the team is working with Australian partners to address health and education challenges aggravated by the floods in 2021 and the earthquakes last year.
