Kathmandu, April 1: As the World Health Worker Week, 2024 is around the corner (coming April 4-8), health camps have been organised in Kathmandu, Nepal. The health camps are the collaborative effort between USAID Clean Air and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
The service provides essential health check-ups and raise awareness about the detrimental effects of air pollution on health, it has been said.
Frontline health workers, including community health workers, play a vital role in delivering essential health services and responding swiftly to health crises and disasters. Safe and supported health workers are the cornerstone of robust and resilient health systems, making them a crucial investment in achieving global health and development objectives.
On the occasion, USAID Nepal honours the incredible dedication and invaluable contribution of health workers worldwide. The World Worker Week themed ‘Safe and Supported: Invest in Health Workers’ will bring together advocates, health workers, practitioners, leaders, and communities around the world to call for greater funding and faster implementation of commitments to protect and support health workers.
