Kathmandu, April 11: Visiting German delegation from the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) inspected the Trishuli substation under the under-construction Chilime-Trishuli Transmission line project.
The transmission line, spanning 28 kilometres currently under construction with support from the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Union is nearing completion. Upon its commissioning, the line will facilitate the evacuation of over 500 MW of Hydro Power Projects currently being constructed in the Trishuli river basin, and also provides reliable electricity supply to the population around the transmission line corridor.
On the occasion, Gisela Hammerschmidt, the development director for Asia, participated in an exchange with Kul Man Ghising, Managing Director for the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). NEA has been a significant partner in numerous projects supported by the German Development Cooperation and the European Union.
