Kathmandu, May 22: Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has claimed that he has been denied a US visa, putting his participation in the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in uncertainty.
The World Cup is scheduled to take place in the United States of America and West Indies from June 1 to 29, 2024. Lamichhane disclosed this information through social media.
The Cricket Association of Nepal, a cricket regulatory body of Nepal, recently removed a suspension of Lamichhane from the national team after he was acquitted in a rape case by the Patan High Court, opening the door for his participation in the World Cup. The court’s verdict overturned the January verdict of the Kathmandu District Court, sentencing him eight years in prison in the same case.
