Kathmandu, June 24: The seventh edition of Everest International Model United Nations (EIMUN) has kicked off today in Kathmandu, bringing together 200 delegates from 10 nations across the globe.
EIMUN is a MUN conference known for its diversity and focusing on global issues in the South and Central Asia region. The five-day conference, hosted by the U.S. Embassy in collaboration with the Youth Thinkers Society, was officially jointly inaugurated by U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Dean R. Thompson, Member of Parliament of Nepal Dr Swarnim Wagle, Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, and UN Women Nepal Country Representative Patricia Fernández-Pacheco.
Over these five days, young participants from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Sudan, and Japan will hone skills in teamwork, critical thinking, negotiation, and diplomacy.
“We look forward to seeing these bright minds forge lasting friendships, learn from one another, and demonstrate the power of cooperation in tackling the pressing issues of our time,” said U.S. Embassy.
