Kathmandu, June 26: A team of 15 officials from Nepal has returned home from Australia after completing the Australia Awards Short Course on Integrated River Basin Management.
During the visit, the delegation engaged in various learning and networking events while meeting with several Australian counterparts including CSIRO and Murray-Darling Basin Authority.
They also visited sites such as the Snowy Hydro Scheme and the Jindabyne and Hume dams. The visit provided valuable insights into Australia’s water management practices, it has been said.
The learning initiative was designed and delivered collaboratively by the Griffith University and Alluvium International.
The delegation represented Department of Hydrology and Meteorology of Nepal, the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation, and the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS).
