Kavrepalanchok, Aug 17: The Araniko highway has been blocked since this morning due to a landslide. The road was blocked due to a landslide at Panchkhaal Municipality-8 of Kaverapalanchok.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Shrestha informed that about 50 meters of the road was blocked due to a landslide. As a result, hundreds of vehicles and passengers remain stranded on both sides.
Meanwhile, light and small vehicles were sent to their respective destination using alternative roads.
Efforts are being made to remove the landslide debris and clear the road for traffic by deploying a team of security personnel and coordinating with the local level and the Department of roads, said DSP Shrestha.
