Kathmandu, Aug 23: An Indian number plate bus has skidded off the road and fell into the Marsyangdi river at Aanbukhaireni in Tanahun district, killing at least 14 people, and injuring many more.
A rescue team of security agencies retrieved at least 14 bodies from the river, said the police, adding that 16 other injured have been rushed to the local hospital. Rescue efforts have been underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Dipak Kumar Raya.
Raya said around 40 passengers were on the ill-fated bus (UP 53 FT 7623) heading to Kathmandu from Pokhara.
