Five climbers summit Manaslu today morning

Kathmandu, Sept 19: A team of five climbers, including Sherpa guides, climbed Mount Manaslu (8,163 metres) today morning.

The team reached atop the eighth-highest mountain in the world at 7:10 am, confirmed Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Managing Director of the expedition organiser, Seven Summit Treks. The expedition was led by renowned climber Chhang Dawa Sherpa.

Below is a list of the summiteers:

  • Chhang Dawa Sherpa (Nepal)
  • Pasang Nurbu Sherpa (Nepal)
  • Josette Valloton (Switzerland)
  • Rinji Sherpa (Nepal)
  • Ming Sona Sherpa (Nepal)

Earlier on September 18, 2024, a rope fixing team of six Sherpas under the management of the Expedition Operators Association Nepal (EOA-Nepal), reached Manaslu clearing a route for this climbing season. The team from Seven Summit Treks became the first to scale the peak at 15:30 pm, said SST.

Rope-fixing includes:

  1. Namgel Dorjee Tamang (Solukhumbu) (Nepal)
  2. Ngima Tashi Sherpa (Solukhumbu) (Nepal)
  3. Pemba Tashi Sherpa (Sankhuwasabha) (Nepal)
  4. Dawa Sherpa (Sankhuwasbha) (Nepal)
  5. Pam Dorjee Sherpa (Solukhumbu) (Nepal)
  6. Sirjangbu Sherpa (Sankhuwasabha) (Nepal)
