Kathmandu, Sept 22: A team of 16 mountaineers, including Sherpas, climbed Mount Manaslu (8,163 metres) today morning. SST’s General Manager Thaneswar Guragai confirmed the team’s ascent of the true summit of the eighth-highest mountain.

Since a rope fixing team of six Sherpas from Seven Summit Treks (SST) under the management of the Expedition Operators Association Nepal (EOA-Nepal), reached Manaslu on September 18, becoming the first climbers of this season, two batches of climbing teams have already summited the peak.

On September 21, a team of two climbers–Afsaneh Hesami Fard from Iran, and Pemba Thenduk Sherpa from Nepal, reached atop the peak. Likewise, a group of five climbers–Chhang Dawa Sherpa (Nepal), Pasang Nurbu Sherpa (Nepal), Josette Valloton (Switzerland), Rinji Sherpa (Nepal) and Ming Sona Sherpa (Nepal)–climbed the mountain on September 19.

All these expeditions were organised by Seven Summit Treks, a leading Nepal-based expedition operator, and led by renowned climber Chhang Dawa Sherpa.

Meanwhile, SST informed that its other climbing members are on the way to their summit push tonight.
