Kathmandu, Sept 30: Landslides and floods that occurred following incessant rainfall across the country have caused severe loss of lives and properties in Bagmati Province, including Kathmandu Valley.

A total of 82 were killed by the natural disaster in Kathmandu Valley as of today afternoon and another 94 were killed in Bagmati Provinces besides Kathmandu Valley.

As per the data of the Armed Police Force, Nepal, 52 people lost their lives in Kathmandu, 25 in Lalitpur and five in Bhaktapur.

Similarly, two persons went missing in Kathmandu due to landslide and floods, one in Bhaktapur and 12 in Lalitpur as well as 15 people sustained injuries in Kathmandu and two in Lalitpur. Search for the missing ones was underway.

A total of 59 people were killed in Kavrepalanchok, 13 in Sindhupalchowk, seven each in Makwanpur and Dolakha, four in Dhading, two in Sindhuli and one each in Nuwakot and Ramechhap districts of Bagmati Province.

Four people have gone missing in Kavrepalanchok and one in Sindhupalchok. Likewise, 52 people were injured in Kavrepalanchok, four in Sindhupalchok and one in Makawanpur.

Likewise, more than 1,000 houses suffered damages in Kavrepalanchok while 16 in Sindhupalchok and five in Sindhuli.

Six people lost their lives in natural disaster in Panchthar, five in Solukhumbu, three each in Dhankuta and Jhapa, two each in Sunsari and Ilam and one each on Terhathum and Okhaldhunga of Koshi Province, two in Mahottari and one in Rautahat of Madhes Province and two in Rupandehi of Lumbini.

Death toll rises to 204 in the country

A total of 204 people have died, 89 injured and 33 went missing throughout the country. Joint-Spokesperson of APF Nepal, Shailendra Thapa, said 23 people lost their lives in Koshi Province, 176 in Bagmati Province including 94 in Kathmandu Valley, and two in Lumbini.

Likewise, 1,783 bridges suffered damages across the nation while landslides and floods washed away three bailey bridges in Panchthar, Sunsari and Sindhupalchowk as well as 19 bridges– five motorable bridges, seven suspension bridges and other four types of bridges.

Flood also swept away a resort in Udayapur. According to APF Nepal, 3,401 people hit by natural disaster were rescued so far.
