Kathmandu, Oct 8: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has released weather forecasting for the period from 1 October to 31 December 2024.

According to the forecasting released on Monday, the south-eastern region of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki province and eastern part of Lumbini province are likely to receive above-average rainfall.

There are chances of less rainfall in the central and northern parts of Karnali province and northern part of Sudurpaschim province and an average rainfall in the rest of the country.

Department’s Information Officer and Meteorologist Bibhuti Pokharel shared that the maximum temperature is likely to remain above the average in most parts of the country and the minimum temperature is likely to be above the average across the country.

Rainfall is likely to occur in the south-eastern parts of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki and lumbini provinces.

The northern part of Koshi province, western part of Madhes province and eastern and southern parts of Bagmati province are likely to receive over 45 to 55 percent rainfall.

The southern part of Koshi province, western part of Madhes province, north-western part of Bagmati province and south-eastern part of Gandaki province are likely to be above 35 percent to 45 percent.

Similarly, there is a possibility of below 35 to 45 percent rainfall in the central and northern parts of Karnali province and northern parts of Sudurpaschim province and 35 to 45 percent in the rest of the country.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be higher than the average in most places of the country. The maximum temperature is likely to be over 45 to 55 percent in the central and southern parts of Bagmati province, western part of Madhes province, central and western parts of Gandaki province, central and eastern parts of Lumbini province and eastern and northern parts of Karnali province.

There is a 35 to 45 percent chance of maximum temperature in the central part of Koshi province, eastern part of Madhes province and northern part of Bagmati province, while the probability of maximum temperature is 35 to 45 percent in the rest of the country.
