Janakpurdham, Dec 14: The local level employees of Madhesh province have started a protest demanding their installation. A total of 160 employees of various categories including technical, accounting, revenue and administration at the local level within the province are staging a dharna or sit-in at the Office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers, Janakpuramadha.

The employees have complained that they were forced to protest after their notice several times in writing and verbally did not receive any positive response from the authorities. Bir Bahadur Salaura, Coordinator of the Local Level Employees’ Movement Committee, said that the employees who had passed the Federal Public Service Commission and were recommended for posting in Madhesh Province remain without a position and work since a year ago. He said that despite repeated requests for solving the problem the provincial government has not put them into any office. Around 1000 local level employees are working in the province.

Salaura said that although the employees recommended by the Federal Public Service Commission in other provinces have been posted it has not been the case in Madhesh province. The protesting employees have also been deprived of perks and benefits as they have not yet been posted for work.
