Kathmandu, Jan 13: The trial phase for newly installed water supply pipelines in the Kathmandu Valley has been successfully completed.

With the resumption of water supply from the Melamchi River in Sindhupalchowk district, the Project Implementation Directorate launched the trial pipelines.

According to Directorate Chief Tika Bahadur Chaudhary, the test covered 980 kilometers of pipelines installed under 33 water supply networks as part of the Melamchi Sub-Project-2. Out of these 33 networks, 14 have already been handed to the Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Management Board and a process is underway for a handover of the remaining 19, officials said.
