Thulibheri (Dolpa), Feb 16 : The Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project has distributed apple seedlings to the farmers of different municipalities in the district.
Six agriculture firms and cooperatives combined were provided 12,600 saplings in 50 percent grant. The firms were selected after calling a proposal under the project for the expansion of apple zone.
Thulibheri municipality, Jagdulla rural municipality and Tripurasundari municipality 3 and 4 received the apple seedlings of golden, royal, red delicious, and red Richard species, according to chief of project implementation unit, Govinda Bahadur Malla.
Malla added that Dolpa has a favourable climate for apple and bean farming, so it was selected for the implementation of the project. Bean zone programme has already been in place in Mudkechula and Kaike rural municipalities in the district.
