An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck early this morning with its epicenter around Bhairavkund in Sindhupalchok.
According to the National Seismological Center under the Department of Mines and Geology, the earthquake occurred at 2:51 AM.
Tremors were felt in the capital, Kathmandu, and surrounding areas, as well as in some districts of eastern Nepal.
Due to the earthquake, people who were asleep at night rushed to open spaces in fear.
