Bhaktapur : The Grade 12 exams scheduled to being from from April 24 have been postponed. As per the suggestion of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the National Examination Board held a meeting this evening and decided to postpone the Grade 12 exams from April 24 to May 4.

Board Chair Mahashram Sharma shared that the NEB decided to postpone the exams by 10 days. A meeting of the board this morning had decided to conduct the exams as per schedule by mobilizing civil servants instead of the teachers who are currently agitating in Kathmandu. However, civil servants did not give a nod, thereby bringing the decision to a dispute.

This evening after a team of the Board including Chair Sharma reached Baluwatar and discussed the matter with Prime Minister KP Oli, the Prime Minister directed to postpone the exam for a few days and as per the same directive The board held a meeting and decided to postpone the exam to be held from coming May 4.

The Grade 12 exam has been affected after the Teachers’ Federation continued its Kathmandu-centric agitation with various demands.
About 500,000 students were scheduled to attend the Grade 12 exams this year.
