The 8th ATA Everest Global Nepali Film Awards concluded on Sunday with a grand celebration featuring musical performances and special recognitions at the fully packed Boulder Theater in Colorado, USA. The event was jointly organized by Nepal Film Society Nepal, Global Nepali Film Award USA, Helping Hands Health Education, and the Philip Harmony Orchestra Boulder.

This year, young actor, entrepreneur, and social activist Krishna Sunar was honored at the ceremony. Organizers acknowledged his long-standing support for the Nepali film and cultural sector. Although currently residing in the United States, his heart and dedication remain deeply connected to Nepal, contributing significantly to the upliftment of the Nepali film industry.

Krishna Sunar, a well-known actor in Nepal, continues to explore ways to strengthen and globalize Nepali cinema even while abroad. His continuous support, cultural engagement, and optimistic vision were highly appreciated and recognized with a special honor at the event.

The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of Nepal and the United States, followed by the formal inauguration by Chief Guest Aaron Brockett, Mayor of Boulder City, and Special Guest Martha Loachamin, Boulder County Commissioner, who jointly lit the ceremonial lamp.

The event saw the vibrant presence of Nepali artists from Nepal, the United States, and various other countries. With the theme “Nepali Film: Village to Global,” the awards have been recognizing, promoting, and encouraging Nepali filmmakers and artists since 2016. Nepal Film Society Chairman Krishna Malla emphasized the award’s continued commitment to uplifting the industry.
