Kathmandu : A painting exhibition organized jointly by two bank officers has drawn more than 400 visitors. The exhibition held at Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal from February 13 displayed the paintings by artist Raj Shrestha and artist Kumuda Lamichhane.
The art narrator is Pulakit Binod Adhikaree. Both Shrestha and Adhikaree are the bank officers. Total 31 paintings, depicting the issues ranging from oriental mythology to ecology were kept on display.
The event was visited by artists, students, media persons, literati, school teachers and painters. “We’re from banking sector and painting is our hobby. But the comments here have inspired us to hone the skills and contribute to this genre of creative works,” Shrestha said.
Similarly, Adhikaree informed it was the first exhibition they organized, and they were encouraged by the number of visitors. Prominent artisans Ashmina Ranjit, Erina Tamrakar and Asha Dangol, including others, visited the exhibition, according to them.
In view of Asmina Ranjit, the exhibition had wonderful art works, however, there was a long way to go. “Although Shreshta, Adhikari and Lamichhane have not studied art formally, this job is commendable. Continuity is the key,” Tamrakar commented.
Similarly, Dongol mentioned, “Let the canvas teach you the art.”
